COST ESTIMATING/PLANNING
This is an integral part of planning and design of any project. Cost Estimates/plans are prepared at Concept, Schematic, Detailed and Construction design stages.
The service is used to prevent over expenditure or under use of the Client’s budget available, thus assessing the cost of a project prior to reaching the market place and avoiding costly budget over runs or under utilization of the funds available.
Cost plans serve as an effective tool for other professionals to use as a control document. It is termed a yard stick, which sets the level of quality for the project, thus providing the team a monitoring service which results in effective solutions that are on budget.
Cost estimating/planning entails
- Measuring and quantifying materials, labor and equipment resources
- Calculation of unit rates based upon extensive historical data as well as current market trends/conditions.
COST MANAGEMENT
Cost management takes the above and further enhances the project cost monitoring aspects from concept to final billing including
- Management of overall budget
- Review of cost implications of design changes
- Advice on cost of supplemental materials, methods using value engineering methods.
- Experience and advice of bid evaluation and negotiation
- Management of approved expenditure
- Change order negotiation
- Interim payment evaluation and certification
- Provision of final billing account and any necessary breakdown required.
PROGRAM/PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Program manager delivers a turnkey approach to the Clients building needs.
He is an independent representative for the Client who protects the his interest from risks of exposure to change orders, delays and disputes.
Advice is provided at all decision making events/occurrences
Projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst achieving the maximum value for the budget
The Program Manager works with the design professional to ensure that the building reaches its full potential, while maintain cost and schedule requirements.
Clinents are left to run their business, knowing that their interest in terms of their building needs is being closely monitored.
FUNDER/EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE
We are able to provide professional evaluation of development projects with particular emphasis on risk assessment and deficiency resolution.
By employing the following, our Client is able to draw comfort from the fact that an expert versed in the construction cost and management field has provided a due diligence assessment and can monitor the package throughout if the need arises.
